The faculty of education, management, nursing, and technology has introduced special education teacher courses @ CIIT which consist of 4 modules. The Faculty Development Programme for teachers is an ongoing, holistic program that aims to enrich the knowledge, skills, and professional competence of school staff in support of their professional development and that of students in their respective schools.
The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is a Teacher’s development program, held every six years, to review and upgrade the knowledge and skills of school-based teachers. It is also an important step towards the development of Career Guidance Counsellors as academic experts in their particular subject area. Faculty Development Programme (FDP) helps teachers to become more effective through systematic reviews of content and course materials, staff development, and workshops that are designed to enhance pedagogical skills and develop new instructional strategies. On completion of the program, teachers will have a better understanding of students’ learning and performance, ways to evaluate teaching practices in the classroom, and ways to shape educational priorities to ensure improved student learning at the classroom level.

In the last 54 years, this has become one of the largest multi-decade faculty development programs in the world and is run each year for about 55,000 teachers. The Faculty Development Programmes for Teachers (MDG) is one of the major initiatives taken by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with various development partners and NGOs, to improve the quality of our teachers at the grassroots level. It also addresses non-formal education as well as distance education. The program aims to transform the teaching methodologies, fostering competencies beyond strong subject knowledge to ultimately improve teaching and learning in all schools of Nepal.

The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) is a program of support to teachers either new or experienced in teaching. This includes the provision of training and development. FDP is available to teachers working in both pre-schools, primary and post-primary schools. It is structured around four clusters of modules according to modules that are aligned with the overall objectives of the program.
The core programs consist of Modules 1 -3 which focus on classroom management, managing behavior, teaching processes, planning, and assessment. The cluster programs extend the core programs through models for integration and different supports both locally and nationally
